Fishbone Cactus

Are you ready to take the plunge and adopt a fishbone cactus? This plant is a great addition to any plant collection. Here are some tips to keep your fishbone cactus happy:

First things first, fishbone cactus doesn't like to be overwatered like a kid in a pool. It's a succulent plant, so it can store water in its leaves and stem. Water it only when the soil is completely dry like a desert. If you water it too much, it might get root rot like a soggy sponge.

Fishbone cactus likes bright, indirect light and can tolerate some morning or evening direct sun. But don't let it get too much direct sun, or its leaves might get sunburned like a tourist in the Caribbean. Protect it from the hot, direct sun during the hottest parts of the day, and it'll be happiest. 

During the growing season, fertilize your fishbone cactus once a month with a gourmet meal.  We carry a selection of fertilizers in store that it will love!  This will help it grow strong and healthy. Pruning can also be done to keep the plant under control or to propagate new plants. 

Finally, fishbone cactus prefers warm temperatures between 60-80°F (15-27°C)
